Hi Joni,
you are absolutely right. I would like to rephrase what I was trying to say:
Bilingual education should not be left to the time when kids finally go to school (which is at age 6 in Austria).
So offering both languages to the families and the kids in early education, Kindergarten and pre-school is vital. But these areas are often dominated by views that focus on the „deficit“ or are even in the hands of medical professionals. It would be great if we could secure a holistic and language-acquisition perspective and it would be fantastic to have state-funded infrastructure for a bimodal bilingual early childhood.
Mantrimas, could you let us know who „the team“ is?
