*Call for papers **FEAST 2018 (Venice, June 18-19-20)*
The seventh meeting of the “Formal and Experimental Advances in Sign
language Theory” (FEAST) colloquium will take place at the University of
Venice on June 18-19-20, 2018.
FEAST is the official conference of the research project “The Sign Hub:
Preserving, Researching and Fostering the Linguistic, Historical and
Cultural Heritage of European Deaf Signing Communities with an Integral
Resource” (2016-2020) funded by the European Commission within the Horizon
2020 programme.
FEAST is a regular forum to discuss formal approaches to sign language
grammar (in particular in the generative tradition), experimental
approaches to sign languages, and their interaction.
We plan to have oral presentations (30 minutes + 10 minutes discussion) as
well as a poster session (posters are particularly welcome for
contributions reporting experimental work). The poster session will be
preceded by a special session in which each poster presenter will be
allotted 5 minutes to introduce the topic of the poster.
Abstracts should be submitted in pdf format through the FEAST 2018 Venice
Easychair page: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=feast7
Files should be anonymized.
Video submission in IS or ASL are allowed (maximum length 5 minutes). Those
who would like to submit a video in sign language should contact the
organizers (venicefeast at unive.it).
The anonymous abstract should include the title and indicate whether it is
intended for poster or oral presentation. Abstracts should not be longer
than two pages in length (including tables, examples and references), in
12-point type, single line spacing and 2,5 cm. margins.
Abstracts will be reviewed by an external panel and the reviewing process
will be double-blind. At maximum two abstracts (one of which must be
co-authored) can be submitted.
Conference dates: June, 18-19-20 2018
Deadline for submission: February 18th, 2018
Notification of acceptance/rejection: March 26th, 2018
