SignWriting List
October 1, 2004

Dear Stephen, Adam and Everyone...
The definitions that Adam typed in SignWriter DOS include facial
expressions that are important to the signs...I received the .sgn files
from Adam, and then I opened them in SignWriter Java to convert them to
better looking graphics, and then I took screen captures and reduced
them in Photoshop and then placed them as graphics in SignBank...

Glosses are impossible, unless you have a way to drag a facial
expression over the signs at different times...but no...that is bad for
language...

The definitions need either SignMaker, where you can create whole
sentences in SignWriting, including all facial expressions, OR...a
typewriter for SignWriting, such as SignWriter or Movement Writer...so
that facial expressions and complete punctuation can be a part of the
definitions...

So Adam, for now, let's continue doing the definitions for SignBank the
way we have been doing them...There is no rush on this for
SignPuddle... smile

Val ;-)
