SignWriting List
January 25, 2005
Dear SignWriting List, and Kathleen!
Since you asked to review the SignSpelling rules, this is a perfect
opportunity! Thank you for posting the Flemish sign for Prague. It is
not written according to the rules...so let's analyze it...

-------------- next part --------------
1. Imagine placing your right hand in a can of black paint. When the
right hand moves, it paints a black arrow (or black arrowhead) in the
air.
2. Imagine placing your left hand in a can of white paint. When the
left hand moves, it paints a white arrowhead in the air...
3. Imagine if BOTH the right and left hands are on top of each other
and they move together in one line in space. The black and white arrows
blend to become the General Arrowhead, with no dark or light...
But your hands, in the sign for Prague, are not touching. They are not
a blend of the right and left. Instead, the right and left are moving
at the same time, creating separate lines in space.
I will make a new diagram for you, to show you these rules in your
sign...
Val ;-)
