Yes, but both versions of the handshapes, whether the thumb comes
from the center of the palm or down lower on the palm...BOTH are
correct and should not be confused with another flat hand...there
simply is NO way that either version can be misread ... whether the
thumb is placed high or low...if it is on the white palm side it
cannot be another handshape.. I agree that they should be consistent
in the IMWA one way or the other, but having said that, neither
should be confused with something else...see attached...This whole
thumb issue is a funny one..some people prefer straight thumb lines
and some people prefer the diagonal ones and I don't care!
smile...because both can be read well...smile...
