SignWriting List
November 7, 2007

Dear SW Listers, and Steve!

Thank you, Steve, for your unending hard work to give us amazing
tools for writing SignWriting dictionaries and documents with
SignPuddle Software on the web.

This is a VERY big step we are taking together - But I feel joy and
excitement to think of SignPuddle and the ISWA (International
SignWriting Alphabet) as a part of a new SourceForge project...

For those on the List who are not software developers...This is a
very important and big step forward. Steve and I work together daily,
slowly carving out the needed features in SignPuddle to create and
publish long documents in SignWriting. It has been a step-by-step,
multiple-year project that is now resulting in the ability to produce
long documents in multiple sizes, colors, column widths and formats.
It is a major accomplishment and very hard work. Steve and I will be
working long hours until it is released as a package in 2008.

We believe that 2008 will be a year of monumental change for software
development for written Sign Language documents and web postings in
SignWriting. Right now we can create beautiful documents in both
SignPuddle and SignBank, but in 2008 it will be taken to a much
bigger level, because we will be reaching more people, through other
sites, with Steve's SignWriting plugins...

So we will be "burning the midnight oil" (an old phrase meaning we
will be working long hours into the nights) until the package is
ready in 2008, and then it will be officially announced...

I have a big smile...

Val ;-)
