Background colour?

Forgetting all the colors for one moment...it is necessary to have
the palms painted white because it is the only way that we can see
that one palm is on top of another...when one is publishing with a
computer, and just using black ink on white paper...
Take a look at this sign...everyone on the List discussed this at
length long ago and voted to have the white palms so that we can
really see one hand in front of the other...I spent three months
coloring all the palms white for this reason, and the white
arrowheads are also painted white in the new ISWA...this work was
done last summer....

If the palm was not white in the example above, we would not know
which hand was in front of the other....
Now when it comes to these colors, which just started two days ago, I
saw the problem immediately, and Steve and I talked about it
briefly...but if I had to choose between the issues of color versus
showing one hand properly in front of the other, I would choose the
white palms anytime because it gives us information for meaning...the
color is for fun, but the meaning of the white palm should take
precedence...
