AW: [sw-l] SignWriting game from France...

Since "wrist-bobs" are most normally up and down, I tend to do them all with double-lines.

I think he misread the nose line as a head from above. I meant to show the "p" hand on the nose bobbing to the left.

can you show to me the „top view line“ or are you talking about the symbol showing two shoulders left and right to the head – indicating the head seen from top down?

Just curious about terms and definitions of symbols

  Stefan ;-)

Anyway I guess you want to describe the hand palm facing the signer but not palm up – is that correct? Do you always prefer the double stemmed arrow – even for left and right movements --? I prefer the single stemmed arrow in this case

This isn't top view. This is the NOSE line, not the top view line. The hand faces the nose and then twists on the wrist a quarter turn.

Shouldn't this be front view rather than top view?

He may need "pee" and "shit". The French language (and I have noticed, Portuguese, are much less body shy than English. ASL has signs for both and uses them freely. I noticed in Brazilian grammar schools that showing cartoons for hygiene was much less prudish than American English. "Toilet" doesn't cover all the shades of meaning he needs. "Nao urine do chao" :(don't pee on the floor) was in almost all of the college and high school restrooms.

    pee
piss, urinate

      to urinate, expel urine.

Hello everyone -
As you know I live in San Diego, and San Diego has wild fires right
now. My home is safe at the moment, but I do have some friends
staying with us who had to evacuate their home...we are watching TV
to see if their home will burn or not...it is an incredible
experience which is a repeat of the Cedar fires back in 2003...when
we went through something similar...

Since I work out of my home, I am thinking through what hard drives
to take with me if we have to evacuate too...but I doubt that will be
necessary...The air is thick with smoke and raining ashes...

Anyway, thank you, Yaelle, for your message below...

Again, I need to ask you...what do you mean by English signwritings?
British Sign Language, or Australian Sign Language, or American Sign
Language?...all are different signed languages located in English-
speaking countries...

If you mean American Sign Language, then look under TOILET in the ASL
SignPuddle...that might be the sign you are looking for...or BATHROOM
maybe...

Val ;-)
