Hi Stuart -
The IMWA is just a computer thing...a list of a bunch of symbols for
computer software... it is not the whole writing system, which can be
written by hand as well as using different computer systems...so if
there is an error in the IMWA, that does not mean that SignWriting
itself is effected...it just means I have to clean up the IMWA!
Having said that, I cannot find any symbol listed twice (see
attached) except for the fact that some of these symbols mean the
same thing of course, but because it is a computer program, people
need to have access to all the possible ways of writing a symbol, so
I tried to place all the possibilities there in this grid...
But with or without the shoulder line, the Face Direction Line means
the same thing...in the top row of the attached, for example, the
second and third ones in the top row mean the same thing...and the
fourth and fifth ones mean the same thing...just two different ways
of writing it...
I hope this helps - Val ;-)
