Thank you, Stefan, for taking the time out of your busy day to tell
us about your teaching...I am really impressed that at kindergarten
age they are using it now!

Andre -
regarding teaching Deaf children to use the computer so they can type
SignWriting...

I know of several programs that have taught computers to Deaf
children while they learn SignWriting...

1. Dr. Cecilia Flood, in the Albuquerque Public Schools, setup a row
of old computers that run MS-DOS, so the Deaf students could use
SignWriter DOS...and they did for years...at young ages...we have
scores of photos of the Deaf children using SignWriter DOS

2. In Brazil, they also used SignWriter DOS in a classroom that was
documented in a written paper by Guylhem Aznar from France. He
visited the classroom in Brazil and wrote about it...

3. Teachers in Albuquerque, New Mexico also used SignBank for one
year...and there are photos on the web showing the Deaf children
using SignBank...

4. And now I believe there is some SignPuddle use in Albuquerque, New
Mexico...

So time marches forward with both the old and new software still
being used...

Val ;-)
