AW: [sw-l] how old children are using SignWriting?

Hi Honza, 

I was lucky to watch 3 year old Gordian to read SW-documents meaningful  He
has had so much fun  7 years ago. 

Today I am working with kindergarden  kids almost 5 years old  they read
SW-cards for colors, numbers, names, animals - -

And of course  there are my other students  really experts in reading age
14 to 19... 

One group of students gets the chance to practice SW handwriting  but it is
so tremendously difficult compared to reading.

Hello Honza!

Yes...I am sure that Stefan Woehrmann at the Osnabruck School for the Deaf
in Germany can tell you that he has taught children of different ages...what
are the ages of your students, Stefan? I found this web page:

kids ages ranged from five years old to around 12 years old I believe...

but there is no age limit or issue...everyone can learn SignWriting with the
right materials, teachers and motivation...

I used it with kids in our elementary program, as young as 4 years old
(preschool) and they all read and wrote a little bit.  We didn't have the
time(or administrative support) to keep it going, sadly.
