Hi Charles:
glad you remember those GALA interpretations! It was so much fun
getting to sign onstage, too.
Just this past weekend, I had my Boston-area song-interpreting debut
with 2 of the 15 songs in my chorus' concert ... in front of some of
my Deaf friends who use ASL daily. And they liked it! I am more than
ready to sign some more in our next concert.
Best part is, that with all my SignWritten pages of notes (which is
what Charles refers to), I have an exact record of how the song
*should* be interpreted -- which may or may not be like what actually
got performed onstage (and videotaped). So, next time our director
decides to revive "that song we did 3 years ago at GALA" or whenever,
I only need to re-read the SW! Such a gift to the beginning
interpreter. Strange, that so few interpreters I know have any
interest in SW.
