Wow! I remember when we had such trouble with the Symbol 7 set, and now there are 16 different shapes. Is that from the Ethiopian fingerspelling?

  Hi List,
With Val's help, I've put together a package of font files, GPL code,
and design specifications. This design will replace the verbose markup
language currently used by SignPuddle, but is 100% compatible with the
SignMaker and SignText statndards. It is possible to encodes sign
language as digital information.
After I have the release version of Binary SignWriting, I will convert
SignPuddle to the new character set. Binary SignWriting is available in
PHP and a MediaWiki plugin is planned.
I am working on an Internet Draft for the Coded Character Set known as
x-ISWA:2008. You can view the code pages online:
http://www.signbank.org/signpuddle/bsw_alpha/data.php
I am using Valerie Sutton's ISWA 2008 as the abstract symbol set. An
alpha version of her original font is part of this release and is
available under the Open Font License.
You can read about the Binary SignWriting Character Encoding Model:

You can download the font files, code and guide:

-Steve
