Wow, that very different that what others were saying. Maybe you should get João and others in Portugal to use SignWriting so that we can know more of how they would sign their country and city names. ;-)

I am lucky. I can now inform you about the sign for Lisbon. I asked João
Alberto Ferreira (President of the Deaf Portuguese Association) and he
informed me first hand - isn't this great -- smile 

 

So the sign for Lisbon as it is used in Portugal is this:

the sign u showed us - thats the European sign for "Portugal" even

thought there is a Portuguese sign for that (a complicated sign)

the sign of yours for Lisbon looks about right but will check with the

Dutch Sign Lang Centre - I know they are collecting a lot of signs

like that.
