spelling repeated movement

I like Stefan's spelling. As for what you immediately read, that is a question of making a rule. There are several rules we have to learn, and that may take some time geting used to (like the way we write the thumb)

I immediately read it as extended little motions beyond the first curve.  I'd put the arrow heads side-by-side even without the lines.

Hi Valerie, sw-list members -  

   

today I thought about a second way to indicate that
the same movement is performed two or three times. Just adding another
arrowhead should be enough – what do you think? Would you read both
spellings as the same? Sometimes this option – if possible – would allow
to write the sign not so complex.
