Hello Ingvild!
Great to hear from you...I would love to make a rule on this, but I
have noticed that people feel upset by rules. That is why i call them
"SignSpelling Guidelines" ...because the word "rule" feels restrictive
to people...but we certainly can write a chapter on "SignSpelling
Conventions" or "Guidelines"...
The reason the multiple arrowheads can sometimes be mis-read is that
the combination of the arrowheads makes the arrow longer...which then
feels like a longer, multiple movement...it actually finishes further
ahead of the motion the way it really should be...so if the length of
the movement stem has meaning, as to the length of the actual
movement, then it is important to have the movement finish exactly
where it should finish...
So that is why I personally like writing the movement symbol three
times...it finishes in the correct space...and there is no new symbol
to learn...just repeat the motion as many times as it is written...

For me, if we made a SignSpelling Guideline that said that when the
three arrowheads are written on top of each other like a cluster, that
that becomes a new symbol that means repetition three times...that
would work for me, because it looks different than when the arrowheads
are separate from each other...the separate arrows could mean real
movement forward toward the arrow direction...I could "suggest" that
as a guideline in future instruction materials...but not make it a
rule ;-))
