SignWriting List
October 14, 2009
Hello Eda and Charles!
Thank you, Eda, for this lovely message. I am so happy to know about
your experiences teaching SignWriting in São Paulo, Brazil! Thank you
for sharing with us...
And thank you, Charles, for your translation from Portuguese to
English. Your English translation is certainly better than the first-
draft translations that come from the translation software!! It is
funny how LIBRAS is translated into the English word "pounds" in the
software programs ...that one is very hard to guess as to what it
should mean...so your translation was really helpful to me...
And Eda, I agree with Charles, that it is wonderful that you wish to
translate children's books into LIBRAS. Perhaps it would help you to
learn to use SignPuddle software to write the documents? It is free
online. Have you ever used SignPuddle? We will be happy to help
explain how to use SignPuddle if you wish to learn. I use SignPuddle
to write our SignWriting books, as do many others around the world in
other sign languages...

So thanks again, and have a splendid day!
Val ;-)
