Hi Bill and friends,
you are right. This is not the official website but more kind of
experimental version. To create a stand alone Signmaker-Editor will take
some more major efforts. So far we create/write and change signs with
SignPuddle but use all the signs of the German SignPuddle dictionary to
create our own documents with this delegs signwriting-Editor.
It is wonderful to be able now to create new documents with or without
translation (subtitle) in order to support deaf students to improve spoken
language skills.
Stefan

Valerie, Stefan, and others,
Somehow I had gotten onto this page:
http://wpspc20.informatik.uni-hamburg.de/SignWritingEditor2/
which seems to be more of an experimental version.
When I double click on a sign, I get an editor with an on screen keyboard
and a little composing box above the sign with the sign in it. It works
similar to SignPuddle, in that signs can be edited in the box. However, I
noticed that it has at least one problem - highlighted glyphs change to
another glyph during their highlight, then change back to the proper glyph
when not highlighted.

Hello Stefan!
This is all so wonderful, and no rush at all. I know you are under deadline
right now and are too busy to teach us...so there is plenty of time later.
You have already answered some of my questions and it is clear for me now.
Thank you for attaching the diagrams below... Val ;-)

....You are right! Just go ahead and type word by word. Or copy and paste
from a word document.
Whenever there are more than one entry for a given term you can look for
alternative signs with the little blue triangles which show up if you move
the mouse over the signwriting symbols. (see attached gifs)
Well I understand that we will need to write a short tutorial smile . But
I can tell you it is a wonderful program and teachers for deaf and hard of
hearing, SL - interpreters, SL-instructors, signers, parents, medical
staff, will take so much advantage out of this.
