Design for SignPuddle 3: parts-of-speech and morphology of sign language

I kind of like the idea if having a "social media" style of voting as well as having the editors doing the status for two reasons. One, it makes it so that reasons can be stated as to why one felt one way or another. Two, it would also give non-editors a chance to be involved in the status assignments of signs, albeit indirectly. This would make it so that editors can use the response from users as backing for their rational for assigning status. Of course there will be some "spam" ratings just because there will always be people who seem to like/dislike everything for no apparent reason, so it shouldn't be used as an end all. What can be? ;-)
I think having the thumbs up/down alone might be opening a can of worms. I like your suggestion to have it with facial expression, but what about just having the facial expression? In any case, here are some that could go with or without the thumb rankings.

It is always good to have a second set of eyes look at something-- so I should not be able to instantly approve my own stuff, but I should also be able to say why I wrote it that way so someone who spells it differently can't instantly reject it...

By the end of the 2014, I'm hoping the ASL Dictionary will be much improved and I'm hoping that people are writing and interacting within the ASL Practice.

Instead of down voting a new entry for teacher in the ASL Dictionary, an editor could move the new entry to the ASL Practice and up vote the entry leaving a nice message "Nice writing. I moved this to practice because the dictionary already had an equivalent sign."
