Hello Stefan,
here is a brief answer. A complete "how to" will follow...

First, make a copy of all your SignWriter studio files in another directory.
you do not want to mix your previous work with a whole dictionnary!

I export signpuddle whole dictionnary on my desktop.
I create a new dictionnary on my computer with sign writer studio.
I import the signpuddle dictionnary in sign writer studio.
I checkmark the signs to not include.
I do an export as Anki. I am careful to chose where the images will be located.

Sign Writer studio will use the 2 gloses columns to create the flashcards text.
In SignWriter studio, I export the whole dictionnary in 5 seconds.

I move the generated anki image directory where Anki can find it (mixed with all other anki images!):
Images in : C:\Users\alemyre\Documents\Anki\Utilisateur 1\collection.media

I create a new deck of flashcards name with a version (ex. LSQ dictionnary 2014) and import it in Anki (option support html).
I indicate to Anki where is my anki text file created by signWritier studio.

Whith proper instruction, this takes 30 minutes to create 5000 flashcards to study a sign language.

When this is done, post it on Anki flashcards servers to share.

Good morning ...André, Valerie and friends..

Can you believe that I learn about Anki electronic
flashcards for the first time?

Almost incredible – smile –

Well as Tini mentioned so often – hi Tini !! –

Learning is fun e(?) L.I.F.E.

So I spent some hours on watching and readong
tutorials about how to use the ANKI software...

I am just wondering – André did you already post, share a deck of SignWriting cards?? Would
love to understand what this kind of card would look like. Do you create single
gifs as graphics?

Looking forward to your answer

All best

Stefan

Hello,

I have a plan, here is an overview.

Prepare much resources in advance, then release one each 6 weeks:

Note Anki electronic flashcards and dictionnary are generated effortlessly with
Sign Writer studio!

1-my new LSQ web site with links.

2-French translation of SignWriting textbook for Deaf and large public

3-Comparison guide between Québec University system of notation for linguists
and interpreters and sigwriting

4-Anki flashcards based on the Comparison guide

5-"how to guide" on studying signwriting LSQ with Anki

6-Flyer 1 page: how to read signwriting

7-PDF dictionnary French LSQ signwriting (problem: needs to review 5000
signpuddle entries)

8-Anki flashcards bassed on the dictionnary French LSQ signwriting

9-Presenting the material to college and universities

10-finish my activity guide for children (second try with elementary school)

11-a new lexique every six months in PDF, signpuddle and anki flashcard

12-a new dictionnary every 18 months

13-Support and troubleshooting for users in Québec

14-Workshops (hard to get people)

15-Booth in events and adds in Deaf news paper.

16-children exchange cards with jokes and trivia questions in signwriting (like
hockey collectible cards)

Expected results:

A) all Deafs know about the existance of SignWriting (make the news!)

B) some interpreters read about signwriting and use the dictionnary

C) pass from 2 active list members to 5.

We have a few people whom taugh signwriting or used it. With this flow of
resources, we may initiate a spyral of success.

Warning: the resources will come soon, but the effect may take a few
years. We are building for the future!

Hello Valerie,
your explanation about the ear touching the
shoulder is fine. I do not need a video.

Thank you Adam, if Stokoe is not used by
linguists, there is no point to make a document explaining how to pass from
Stokoe notation to SignWriting.
My idea is to see how we may reach more people...
