Hello Rubens, Adam, Steve, Tim, Keren, Ae, and everyone on the SW List -
Thanks to everyone for your interest in new handshapes….
Have you all seen a book that Rubens and his team already wrote about this subject? It is a lovely publication ;-)
https://www.signwriting.org/archive/docs13/sw1242_BR_INVENTARIO_DAS_CM_ELS_SW_Prof_Rubens_Almeida_04252020.pdf
It gladdens my heart to learn that you are working on the idea of providing add-on software for new handshapes, Rubens.
Steve is working full-time elsewhere and is donating his time to SignWriting on the weekends, and I am retired but working anyway (smile)! So we all, including Adam and other friends and signwriters, are donating our time and all of you too - here on the SignWriting List - sharing ideas and supporting each other -
So thank you, Rubens. Have you started some kind of a record of the requests for new handshapes all over the world? Or is your work confined tro LIBRAS?
How do you propose going about this kind of a database?
Val ;-)

Do you know how to access and find those shapes in SignPuddle Online? I do not know how SooSL works with handshapes.

It would be so much chaos for the software developers who have already built their software on the current symbolset to change the current symbolset now - the best thing we could try, is for brave software developers to develop an “add-on” program that could somehow be accessed on the side, while still keeping the current software in tact.

He said that the handshapes are from SignWriting and I can contact SignWriting directly about adding handshapes. I would like to know if new handshapes will be added in the near future and if it is possible to add the 2 handshapes in the attached pictures so that they can be included in SooSL. The second one which may be difficult to identify is an index middle cross hinge, thumb side.
