SignWriting List
August 11, 2022

Hello Josenilson and SignWriting List Members:

Based on this video:
https://youtube.com/shorts/Xd5YMCTlZfI?feature=share

I created a screen capture of the Position of Contact and wrote the sign based on SignSpelling Guideline 1: Always write the Position of Contact, and SignSpelling Guideline 2: The Position of Contact becomes the Center of the Sign with the Movement Symbols relating to the Center. Please see attached. I will write another email with more detailed explanation and links to the SignSpelling Guidelines later…. Thanks for the great question and feel free to comment - this is fun to be back in touch!

For example holding somebody else's hand in dance, or pinching your ear, or pinching your clothing. But if the hands are only touching the chest but not really holding anything then you are right that a contact star is all you need. Or maybe you do not need a contact symbol there at all.
