Hello Uta and Stefan -

Thank you Uta, for your request for another Fingerspelling keyboard.

The Fingerspeller Program in SignPuddle 2 gives choices of different keyboards. Right now, there is one for Germany installed. But we can add a second German Fingerspelling keyboard, if you want that, Uta. Have you tried the Fingerspeller Keyboard for Germany in SignPuddle 2 already? Please try it. If you still want changes, then we can add a second keyboard to match your style - we already have two keyboards for ASL too!

Also, the fingerspelling keyboard for Swiss-German Sign Language is a separae keyboard - it is not Germany’s keyboard - two different sign languages.

I recently created a little video to show how to use the Fingerspeller Keyboard in SignPuddle 2:

I know this is all a little confusing. Amit is also developing new software with these keyboards as well as Steve.

Val ;-)

Because ThSL and CSL fingerspellings differ from those of alphabetic writing systems such as Latin, Greek, Cyrillic, and so on, please read my notes in the file "Fingerpelling-CSL" on linguistic detail. ThSL fingerspelling is based on Thai, an Abugida script, while CSL is based on pinyin, which is signed phoneme-by-phoneme rather than letter-by-letter.
