Hello SignWriitng List members, and Hector -

I must tell you, Hector, when I saw this beautiful chart you made with the different variations for the signs for TRUCK in LSC, Colombian Sign Language, I was just so impressed wwiwth the beauty of the chart - how skilled you are with making these kinds of charts for comparisons and dictionaries - thank you!

And it is so educational to see the video and to see how much detail - each sign is very descriptive in LSC ;-)

It is interesting to see that in the United States, in ASL, the sign for TRUCK is mostly fingerspelled. Years ago, apparently there were descriptive signs for TRUCK in ASL - I found some videos on the web that show this fact, and yet Adam is correct that most people fingerspell it today -

I am now living with Deaf people, which is an enormous blessing, and as a hearing ASL learner, I am watching videos of ASL fingerspelling so I can follow the fast speed - if you miss one half of a fingerspelled word in conversation, you can never catch up again with what is being said and it is quite a training to become skilled in ASL because of the speed of fingerspelling - When I lived in Denmark this was not the case - there was not that much fingerspelling in Danish Sign Language -

Do you use fingerspelling in LSC? Do you call your sign language LSC? Or do you have another name for it?

Anyway, thanks again for this lovely chart with all the variations -

Val ;-)
