[Sw-l] Signs for TRUCK and TRUCKS?

That’s a tricky question for ASL. HA!

Generally speaking, ASL users just fingerspell truck rather than use a sign for it. There are some lexicalized changes that occur from people to people, but I would probably just stick to the traditional fingerspelling of it.


There is a sign that has fallen out if use because of its association with SEE (signed exact English). That is what this sign is:

Although, I would probably write it like this instead:


This sign is actually the sign for DRIVE that some ASL users will use to talk generically about a driving truck, or even referring to a truck specifically (although I think the palm facing should have a break, which differs from how this is written):


The last sign in Puddle isn’t familiar to me either. I’m not sure what sign is being attempted.

Might be a regional sign that I’m not aware of, as there are a few regional signs for TRUCK out there as well. :-)
