[Tibeto-burman-linguistics] 48th International Sino-Tibetan Conference (ICSTLL48)

Dear Colleagues,

The 48th International Conference on Sino-Tibetan Languages and Linguistics (ICSTLL48) will take place next week August 21-23, 2015 at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Papers will address issues in a variety of subfields, including phonology, morphosyntax, discourse, sociolinguistics, historical linguistics and field reports. The plenary speakers are:

* Scott DeLancey, University of Oregon, "Retention and Divergence in Tibeto-Burman Verb Argument Systems", August 21, and

* Balthasar Bickel, University of Zurich, "Kiranti in Global Perspective", August 22.

In addition, two pre-conference workshops -- How Grammars Encode Space in Tibeto-Burman and Preserving Cultural Heritage in Ethnic Tibetan Communities in China -- will take place on August 20.
