Dear Colleagues,

following the request of Marianne Bakró-Nagy, I forward the sad news:
Professor emeritus Károly Rédei, one of the most renowned Finno-Ugrists of
the 20th century, editor-in-chief of the Uralisches Etymologisches
Wörterbuch and first Professor of Finno-Ugric Studies at the University of
Vienna, passed away in Budapest this morning.

Condolences to all colleagues, friends and former students who mourn the
loss of one of the Great Ones of his generation
