Maria Mullonen in memoriam

[Johanna Laakso]

Dear Colleagues,

Maria Mullonen, researcher and teacher of Vepsian and Finnish at the
University of Petrozavodsk, Republic of Karelia, author of textbooks and
co-author of the Vepsian dictionary, after WW II the most important
non-Vepsian linguist working on the Vepsian language, teacher and mentor of
generations of Finnic language professionals in Karelia, passed away on 7th
December, at the age of 78 years.

Condolences to all friends and colleagues of Karelia¹s Grand Old Lady of
Finnic studies
