[Ura-list] Transdisciplinary seminar on Fennoscandian and Finno-Ugric past in February

  …to the seminar “The Fennoscandian and Finno-Ugric past in the light of genes, languages and cultures” on the 10-11th of February 2016 at the University of Turku, Finland. The transdisciplinary seminar focuses on the (pre)history of Finland, Fennoscandia and Uralic speaking areas of Eurasia and Siberia. The seminar brings together researchers from different fields of science in order to teach each other and the audience, how the human population history is studied with different approaches. Registration is however not compulsory. The seminar is organized by BEDLAN team (Biological Evolution and Diversification of Languages; funded by Kone Foundation) jointly with SUGRIGE team (intiation to study Finno-Ugric ancient genome; funded by Kone Foundation).

 monitieteiseen Fennoscandian ja uralilaisten kielten ja niiden puhujapopulaatioiden menneisyyttä ruotivaan seminaariin ”The Fennoscandian and Finno-Ugric past in the light of genes, languages and cultures” 10.-11.2.2016 Turun yliopistolla.  Tarkoitus on tuoda yhteen eri tieteenalojen lähestymistapoja ja tuloksia, ja rakentaa tätä kautta uusia lähestymistapoja niin Suomen alueen, Fennoscandian kuin uralilaisten kielten puhuma-alueen (esi)historian selvittämiseksi. Nimensä mukaisesti seminaari tuo yhteen joukon kielitieteilijöitä, geneetikkoja, ekologeja, historioitsijoita, arkeologeja, maantieteilijöitä ym. pitämään luentoja omista aihealueistaan. Tilaisuus on englanninkielinen ja yleisölle avoin, joten tervetuloa kuuntelemaan ja osallistumaan!

 Seminaari on seurattavissa myös netitse webinaarina<https://webmeeting.utu.fi/bedlan2016>. Esitykset säilyvät katsottavina 22.2. asti. Kaikkia luentoja ei välttämättä nauhoiteta.

Opiskelija, seminaariluentoja voinee käyttää osana erilaisia seminaarisarja -kursseja.
