About the opportunity

The Department of French at Dalhousie University invites applications from junior academics for a Limited Term Appointment (10-month term), at the Assistant Professor level in the area of French linguistics, effective August 1, 2021. This position is subject to budgetary approval.

Primary responsibilities will include :

-Teaching French language classes at the undergraduate level,

-Teaching linguistics courses at the undergraduate level,

-Teaching graduate seminars in linguistics,

-Serving on departmental committees.

Necessary qualifications, experience and skills:

-Doctorate in hand at the time of appointment

-Specialization in applied linguistics (teaching of French as a second language) would be an asset

-Experience teaching French as a second language

-Experience using language teaching technology

-Native or near-native fluency in French.
