   Becky Mercuri's SANDWICHES THAT YOU WILL LIKE covers the "Boston Baked Bean Sandwich" on pages 80-81.  The earliest date given is Janet McKenzie Hill's COOKING FOR TWO (1909), "Cold Baked-Bean Sandwich, Club Style."
   The full regional name of "Boston baked bean sandwich" is not always given.

   20 May 1883, BROOKLYN DAILY EAGLE, pg. 10:
   Charley Vaughn, Dick Berry and Fat Boy McNamara take a bean sandwich at Roche's.
