antedating of "sissy" 1879--Note: (Yankee) Dood(le)

So it's "Yankee Doodle Dandy" in the song, > "Yankee Doodle" = "dandy", >
"doodle" = "dandy", > "dude" = "dandy"?

It seems believable. Is there decisive evidence? I don't remember seeing
this derivation presented before.
