I have been using /Mastering Arabic 2/ with my upper-intermediate/advanced
students. The textbook offers a good variety of short texts and a range of
conversation ideas in Modern Standard Arabic. The professional adult
students are really enjoying the resources. I usually run extra
conversation activities related to the textbook topics that allow the
students to speak about their personal experiences.

I highly recommend the Sahlawayhi series of graded readers by Ahmad
Khorshid. I've used them in lower and upper intermediate classes to great
effect and success. Indeed, one of the great uses I've found for them is
that they stories are accessible to students (they are mostly stories about
college students or young adults), thus eminently amenable to in-class
discussions.

See my review of them in the latest al-Arabiyya.

They are available on Amazon.
