Subject: Conference announcement: ComCog 2011
Dear colleagues, Dear friends,
As some of you may know, I am organising together with Louis de Saussure, Didier Maillat, and Thierry Herman, among other colleagues, an international conference that will take place in Neuchâtel next January
(26-28): "COMMUNICATION AND COGNITION 2011 - Manipulation, persuasion and deception in language". From the title you can guess that the general theme of the conference is manipulative, persuasive and deceptive communication, with particular focus on the cognitive parameters that these phenomena hinge upon. However, the conference is not restricted to this specific approach and thus it is also open for submissions from a relatively wide range of research fields.
I am taking the liberty to send you in the attachment the first call for papers (both in English and French in the same pdf document), which contains all the relevant details of the conference (rationale, submission guidelines, practical information, etc...). Please feel free to relay the information. The website for the conference is now up and running, in both French and English, at:
Abstract submission is already open, and closes on Sept 12th; abstracts should be submitted on the EasyAbstracts platform that we set up for the
I apologise in advance for cross-postings; please do feel free to get in touch with me for further questions, I will gladly answer them.
With by best wishes,
