E-DataAid slow

Thanks Susan. I have to say I don't notice a difference, although I 
didn't do a full comparison. That also raises another issue--why is the 
unicode on by default for exporting SPSS text file? I couldn't figure 
out why SPSS was seeing a garbled file when I tried importing until I 
re-saved the text file as ANSI and then it read it fine!

I don't know what DataAid is doing exactly, but it seems to me that it 
is not doing anything too complex and is clearly poorly optimised.
