In Gothic, to ask (for something) is bidjan, and to ask (a question) 
is (ga-)fraíhnan. Both are strong verbs of the 5th class, but it seems 
to me that they have some conjugation peculiarities on which I'm not 
very sure. Maybe some listmember more skilled in Gothic than me could 
help you.
