Oui, c'est vrai que le nom Clovis est consideré comme dérivé du vieil 
haut allemand Hlodweg (ou Hludwig), des racines proto-germaniques 
hlu:d(a-) "célèbre" et weigaz "combat". De la même source aussi le 
nom Ludovicus (Louis, Ludwig, etc.).
Mais je n'ai jamais vu attesté un nom gothique "Hludwih", ni même 
dans la liste des noms gothiques annexée au dictionaire gothique du 
Koebler
(http://www.koeblergerhard.de/germanistischewoerterbuecher/gotischeswo
erterbuch/GotischeNamen.pdf)
Le correspondent gothique de Hlodweg serait *hluþ-weigs, déclinée 
comme un substantif masculin normal avec la thème en –a 
(déclinaison "forte"), c'est a dire:

Nominatif: *Hluþweigs
Vocatif:   *Hluþweig
Accusatif: *Hluþweig
Génitif:   *Hluþweigis
Datif:     *Hluþweiga
