Are we using the same numbering system?  Wouldn't this be sv. III
(according to Wright's classification), *faírtan: fart, faúrtum, faúrtans?

I would suggest: gulþjan, which is consistent with ON gylla.  OE
gyldan could be from either *gulþj- or *guldj-.  The voiced middle
consonant would be regular according to Verner's Law, but the
voiceless consonant is often restored by analogy, especially in Gothic.

> chew: kiggwan (sv.V)

Like bliggwan, this could be classified as II historically, although
from a purely Gothic point of view it might be more convenient to
describe it as III.  *kiggwan: kaggw, kuggwun, kuggwans.

> cough: hvostan (sv.V)

Maybe wv. 2?, cp. Ic. hósta (að), OHG huostón.  That conflicts with OE
hwóstan, but I'm not sure if there's clear evidence as to the
conjugation of that.  Class V strong verbs, in the usual
classification system, have /a/ in the present, /o:/ in the preterite,
and /a/ in the past participle.

Good.  Another one is *ráiha, man.; *ráiho, fon.

> kick: sparnjan (wv.1)

Could be.  Other possibilities: *spaúrnon, 2, *spaúrnan, irreg. III:
sparn, spaúrnum, spaúrnans.  Maybe the irregular strong verb is best,
as this is presumably the oldest form.

> enthusiasm: funimodei (fem. n-st.)
> enthusiastic: funimoþs (adj.)

Words expressing a similar idea: nouns: aljan, us-dáudei; verbs:
(ahmin) wulan IV; adjectives: us-dauþs (d), wulands.

> euphonious: drunjufagrs (adj.)

Or: drunju-skauns, i.  (We'd better remember to mark the declension of
adjectives too...)  fagrs isn't attested in Gothic with the meaning
"beautiful", only "fit, suitable, any good for" + unfagrs "unthankful".

> reindeer: hrainadius (neut. a-st.)

Seems good to me.  And as a synonym, the simplex: *hrains, ma.

Yes, this would be the transitive form.  The intransitive would be the
strong verb *riukan II.

Maybe, or could it possibly be *aik-waírna, man.?  Fick-Falk-Torp
refers to *aik- "oak", but says not directly from this word.  And is
it any relation to widuwaírna "orphan"?
