Conference program: Chicago Linguistic Society 38, April 2002 (including panel on indigenous languages of Latin America)

We are pleased to announce the 38th Annual Meeting of the Chicago
Linguistics Society, which will take place this week, April 25-27, 2002
on
the University of Chicago campus.

This year the conference features panels on:

Indigenous Languages of Latin America (Thursday April 25)
Invited speakers: John Haviland, John Lucy, Bruce Mannheim

Subsymbolic Approaches to Language (Friday April 26)
Invited speakers: Jeff Elman, Brian MacWhinney

Negation and Polarity (Saturday April 27)
Invited speakers: Larry Horn, Anastasia Giannakidou, Bill Ladusaw

The Main Session will feature talks by John Ohala and Ellen Prince.

In addition, nearly 80 submitted presentations are included in this
year's
program.
