popularity of baby signs in other countries?

Baby-sign seems to be fairly popular in the UK; in the BabyLabs i've worked
at, a lot of mums mention it, and there are classes all over the country
(see http://www.singandsign.com/classes/map.php). I first heard of it from
parents about ten years ago, and it's still going strong.
