tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor. We seek a scholar
whose research and teaching expertise sits at the intersection of language
and society, broadly construed. Applicants should have a strong record
of ethnographically grounded research, an innovative theoretical approach,
clear plans for future scholarship, and demonstrated excellence in
teaching. Geographic and topical areas of focus are open. A Ph.D. in
anthropology or a closely related field is required at or before the time
of appointment. Applicants should submit a cover letter, CV, and the
names of three references via Interfolio

until advanced stages of screening. Applications received by November 15
will receive fullest consideration.

The Department is especially interested in qualified candidates who can
contribute, through their research, teaching, and/or service, to
the diversity and excellence of the academic community. Candidates are
encouraged to draw attention to these contributions in their application
materials.
