*Description*:

Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) was founded in 1896 and is one of the
highest ranking universities in China with a world-class reputation. The
International Chinese Education Center (ICEC) in the School of Humanities
was founded in May 2000, and specializes in *Teaching Chinese as a Second
Language* and other interdisciplinary research profiles involving
linguistics. The school has an undergraduate program in *Chinese Language*,
and Masters programs in both *Linguistics and Applied Linguistics *and
*Teaching
Chinese as a Second Language*.



*General requirements*:

The ICEC seeks applications for six full-time academic positions at the
ranks of Lecturer; Tenure-track Assistant Professor, Tenured Associate
Professor, Tenured Full Professor, Distinguished Professor and Chair
Professor. Responsibilities of the appointees will include teaching,
research, thesis supervision, and student advising.

Applications for the positions mentioned above are open to scholars with a
Ph.D. in Psycholinguistics, Computational Linguistics, Second Language
Acquisition, Linguistic Typology, Applied Linguistics, Chinese Linguistics
or any linguistics- related areas.



Applicants applying for the *Tenured Full Professor *level must:

1.     Have a doctoral degree in Linguistics or other related studies from
a well-known, top-ranking university;

2.     Have served in the post of high-level Associate Professor or higher
positions, if not other equivalent positions;

3.     Be capable of teaching core courses;

4.     Possess a high level of scholarship, expertise and academic
accomplishments with established achievements universally acknowledged in
Linguistics and other related fields.



Applicants applying for the *Tenured Associate Professor *should:

1.     Have a doctoral degree in Linguistics and other related studies from
a well-known, top-ranking university;

2.     Have at least 3 years working experience as a tenure-track Assistant
Professor;

3.     Be capable of teaching core courses;

4.     Possess a high level of scholarship, expertise and academic
accomplishments with established achievements universally acknowledged in
Linguistics and other related fields.



Applicants applying for the *Tenure-track Assistant Professor *should:

1.    Have a doctoral degree in Linguistics and other related studies from
a well-known, top-ranking university;

2.         Have at least 3 years of overseas working experience (outside of
China);

3.         Be capable of teaching core courses;

4.         Be younger than 40 years old.



Applicants applying for the *Lecturer* position should:

1.     Be younger than 35 years old

2.     Have a Ph.D degree from a well-known, overseas top-ranking
university;

3.     Be capable of teaching core courses;

4.     Be a graduate with a major in Linguistics and other related studies,
and have conducted significant high-quality research
