Our university is in the planning stages of an interdisciplinary MA
program in Linguistics, with varying tracks. I would greatly
appreciate information about other interdisciplinary MA programs at
other universities, as well as information about linguistics
departments that began as interdisciplinary MA programs. Please
respond to my address below. I will post a summary to the list.
Thanks for your help!

In German, we can use something like

wer glaubst Du wer sie gesehen hat
who think you who she seen has
"who do you think has seen her"

or
wann glaubst Du wann sie ankommen wird
when think you when she arrive will
"when do you think will she arrive"

in addition to "decent" wh-movement, in which intermediate
traces are deleted.

The only other language I know of which allows this
cosntruction is Romani. Are these two languages really
unique?

I'm considering pursuing a doctorate in Linguistics/Southeast Asian
(specifically Vietnam) studies with an emphasis in folklore and
anthropology. I'm interested in working with the Montagnard/Dega
languages of the Central Highlands of Vietnam. Does anyone have any
tips on graduate schools that have strong programs in these areas?
Thanks.
