We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually
best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is
then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was
instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we
would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.

Hi,
I have a student wishing to research the (alleged)
Americanisation of British English. Could anyone point me
to relevant sources from both British and American viewpoints
and also, if possible, to newspaper and magazine articles,
particularly of the outraged, dyspeptic sort? If I have
enough answers and if anyone else is interested I'll give
a summary later.
Regards,
 Tony Jappy

Dear Fellow Linguists,

A student from the Linguistics Masters program is looking for references on
any linguistic topic (phonology, syntax, sociolinguistics, historical
linguistics, etc.) regarding Taiwanese and, more generally, the Min variety
of Chinese. Any reference would be wellcome. Please send your message to me
(jbrandao at idf.ext.jussieu.fr).

Thank you in advance on her behalf.
