Description:

Texas Tech University, a growing research institution with 29,000
students, offers a tenure-track position in Spanish for an assistant
professor in Fall 2004. Native or near-native fluency in Spanish and
English. Specialization related to Spanish pedagogy or foreign/2nd
language pedagogy. Earned doctorate (by time of appointment) in
Spanish, Applied Linguistics, Foreign Language Education, Bilingual
Education, or related field. Duties will include directing the first
or second-year Spanish language program (with course reduction and
assistance, in order to promote progress toward tenure), teaching
courses in Spanish and in second/foreign language pedagogy at the
undergraduate and graduate levels. Excellence in teaching at all
levels and commitment to research.  Send letter of application, CV,
