Description:

Tenure-track position for assistant professor to begin in fall 2011. PhD in
applied linguistics, linguistics, or English with a linguistics
concentration and college teaching experience required. We seek candidates
with expertise in TESOL and with experience teaching TESOL theory and
pedagogy as well as general linguistics courses. 

The successful candidate will carry a 2-2 teaching assignment for the first
year, then a 3-2 assignment in subsequent years. Publications and
professional service are required for tenure and promotion. Salary will be
competitive. Affordable and comfortable faculty housing is usually
available in the first two years of employment. Mississippi State
University is a Carnegie Doctoral/Research-Extensive institution with
approximately 19,000 students on the main campus.
