Meeting Description:

Topics in Applied Linguistics: Cognitive and Affective Language Processes in Intercultural Contexts

Venue: Opole University, November 14-16, 2011.

Centered around topics in applied linguistics, the conference will mainly focus on: second language acquisition, bilingualism and multilingualism, computer-mediated communication, conversation analysis, contrastive linguistics, language assessment, literacies, discourse analysis, language pedagogy, lexicography, language planning and policies, pragmatics, forensic linguistics, and translation.

The conference will consist of plenary lectures and paper sessions. The language of the conference is English. Selected conference papers, after a blind-review procedure, will be collected and published as one of our book series: Topics in Applied Linguistics.

Closing date for submission of abstracts and registration: September 15, 2011
Abstract acceptance notification: October 1, 2011
Deadline for registration fee: October 15, 2011

Submission of Proposals and Registration:

Please send a 300 word abstract for a 30-minute paper (20 minutes for presentation and 10 minutes for discussion). All submissions will be reviewed anonymously by the scientific committee.

Conference Fee:

The fee includes conference materials, coffee breaks, an evening banquet on Nov. 15, 2011, and publication costs.
