Department of Linguistics and Modern Languages
Senior Instructor(s) / Instructor I(s) / Instructor II(s)

The Department is a young and vibrant Department established in 2004. It 
now invites applications for instructional posts for its academic 
programmes.  

Applicants should have (i) a Master degree or above in linguistics or a 
related discipline; and (ii) experience, preferably at university level, in 
teaching courses in different areas of linguistics which are covered by the 
programmes offered by the Department. For Instructor I, minimum four 
years' relevant experience subsequent to award of the Master degree is 
required, and for Senior Instructor, generally eight years' or more such 
experience is expected. The appointees will (a) teach undergraduate and 
postgraduate courses; (b) supervise research projects of undergraduate 
and MA students; and (c) undertake administrative duties.  

Appointments will initially be made on contract basis for up to three years 
commencing August 2012, renewable subject to mutual agreement.

Salary and Fringe Benefits:
Salary will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and 
experience. The University offers a comprehensive fringe benefit package, 
including medical care, plus a contract-end gratuity for appointments of two 
years or longer; and for Senior Instructorship: housing benefits for eligible
