Le projet ANR RefLex propose un contrat post-doctoral d'un an à temps plein, démarrant au plus tard le 1er décembre 2013.

RefLex a pour but de constituer un corpus de référence en ligne pour les lexiques des langues africaines, ainsi que de proposer des outils pour l'exploitation de ce corpus. A ce jour, deux jeux d'outils sont développés : l'un pour la comparaison et la reconstruction, qui permet de manipuler des séries de cognats et de correspondances, et l'autre pour les statistiques, qui permet de compter n'importe quelle séquence dans la base de données. D'autres outils sont en développement, notamment un outil cartographique, et des outils phylogénétiques. RefLex contient près de 500000 fiches pour environ 500 langues africaines.

Le/la candidat/e recherché est linguiste, et désire faire de nouvelles découvertes dans le domaine comparatiste ou dans les statistiques phonologiques ou morphologiques, ou dans n'importe quel domaine pour lequel l'accès à un gros corpus lexical est primordial. La maîtrise du français et/ou de l'anglais est nécessaire. Une expérience en linguistique africaine s'avèrera utile. Le/la candidat/e idéal/e présentera un projet scientifique original, pouvant être réalisé dans un délai d'un an, et nécessitant l'accès à un gros corpus lexical. Des compétences en programmation (PHP, MySQL, Ajax, JavaScript) seraient utiles, mais c'est surtout dans le domaine scientifique que des résultats sont attendus.

The ANR-funded RefLex project offers a one-year post-doctoral position (full-time), to begin no later than December, 1st, 2013.

RefLex is devoted to the making of a very big database of lexical data from African languages. It provides a web-based reference corpus, as well as various sets of tools to exploit it. Two main sets of tools are already implemented : a comparative one, which allows to manage cognate sets and correspondence sets, and a statistical one, which allows to count every possible sequence within the database. Other tools, such as a mapping tool, or phylogeny management, are currently under development.

RefLex contains nearly 500,000 entries from ca 500 different African languages. The position is open to a linguist interested in exploiting this database to make new findings either in comparative and historical linguistics, in phonological and/or morphological statistics or in any other field where access to a big lexical corpus is relevant.

Candidates should have a good command of English and/or French. Previous experience in African languages will be useful. The ideal candidate will present an scientific project of his/her own, which can be achieved within one year and for which access to the database is central. The ability to develop new tools (using PHP, MySQL, Ajax, JavaScript, SVG) will definitely be a plus, although results are mostly expected in the scientific aspect of the project.
