Salary Package: From $103,914 to $122,947 (Level B), plus 17% employer's
superannuation and annual leave loading.

The Role:
In 2020 The Department of Linguistics will launch a new degree, the Bachelor
of Linguistics and Language Sciences, which will run alongside our more
clinically focused degree, the Bachelor of Speech and Hearing Sciences. In
order to bolster our expertise in general linguistics, and develop strategic
interests in new areas, we are currently seeking applications for the
following academic position.

The successful applicant will teach into and convene units at undergraduate
level in the Bachelor of Speech and Hearing Sciences and the Bachelor of
Linguistics and Language Sciences. The successful applicant may also teach
into the Master of Research and other Linguistics courses as appropriate and
will be expected to contribute to the scholarship of the Department through a
program of personal research and through the supervision of Higher Degree
Research students across department programs.

Reporting to the Head of Department of Linguistics you will be expected to:
- Contribute to the development of the Department through research, teaching
and scholarship 
- Contribute to the enhancement of student learning, personal development and
achievement 
- Contribute to curriculum development in the undergraduate program 
- Contribute to research training through actively attracting and supervising
research students 
- Actively seek and secure both internal and external research funding
- Assume various administrative tasks, responsibilities and other duties as
requested by the Head of Department including committee work and undergraduate
student advising

About You:
You will have expertise in general linguistics and be able to teach units in
at least two of the following areas:
- Morphology
- Semantics
- Forensic Linguistics
- Sociolinguistics
- Computational Linguistics
